Wheel of Fortune contestant fumbles huge payday with major fail during special opportunity
A WHEEL of Fortune contestant has lost a whopping $8,650 with one facepalm-inducing wrong move on Wednesday's episode.
Nick, a lifelong Wheel of Fortune enthusiast, was pitted against mother-of-one Beth and father-of-three Chester.
As the puzzle category was "What Are You Doing," Nick found himself landing on an express wedge during his turn.
Pat, 77, explained the rules to a visibly excited Nick, reminding him of the stakes.
"Now listen Nick, I have work to do as the host, I have to explain this thing!"
He added: "If you do the express thing, you keep calling consonants, you get $1000 for each one, and you can buy vowels.

“Let’s do it!” Nick enthusiastically declared, pumping his fist and ready to hop on the express train.

Nick started off strong, solving the three-word puzzle with a correct "L" and proceeding to purchase an "I" and two "Ts."
The momentum continued with an "H," three "Es," "W," and "S."

However, the excitement took a nosedive when Nick, with only four letters remaining blank, mistakenly called out an "M."
As it was revealed there was no "M," Vanna White empathetically stomped her foot.
The studio audience fell into a dead silence as Nick plummeted from a potential $8650 to $0, looking visibly distraught.
"Oh no!" he said as his score was wiped and he had to give up a wildcard wedge too.
“Nick, I’m sorry you were doing a nice job there. Beth, it’s your turn,” Pat said somberly.
Beth instantly solved the puzzle as: "Decorating The Whole House" and won a vacation, intensifying the sting of Nick's miss.
Undeterred, Beth proceeded to the bonus round and impressively cracked the puzzle as "Just Humor Me," walking away with an extra $40,000 for a grand total of $57K.
